I don’t send messages like this often — but this one’s close to my heart.
There’s a good chance you have interacted with Lisa Shepard.
For more than three years, Lisa has been a huge part of my world — supporting me behind the scenes as a community manager, helping to keep things running smoothly, and caring deeply about the people who show up in our online spaces.
We call her the “Head Honcho of Helpfulness.” 😃

Now, she and her significant other, Tom, could use our help.
They live in a remote area of southern Oregon. The nearest town is a nearly two-hour drive away.
Recently, while driving back home from a grocery run, Tom sadly ran into a deer. Thankfully, he’s okay — but their only vehicle was badly damaged.
For Lisa and Tom, living two hours outside of town, a car isn’t just a luxury — it’s essential for food, medical appointments, and staying connected to the world.
They’ve started a GoFundMe to help with the costs of repairs, towing, temporary transportation, and, if necessary, a replacement vehicle.
